You know you are an OpenVMS Bigot when:
- PATCH is your favorite editor
- Disciplining your kids is CMKRNL time
- You know what INSQTI means
- Delta and xdelta are your favorite debuggers
- You expect upper and lower case to work the same way
- You know what happened on November 17, 1858
- You know that fork queue is not an insult
- You believe a computer should handle more than one user at a time
- You still measure performance in "VUPS"
- You know that "Open" is a silent prefix
- "System has become unstable" holds no real meaning for you
- You know RMS does not maen "root mean square" or "Richard M. Stallman"
- You think that a CLI is better than a GUI
- You think the Pacific Northwest is still best known for its trees

Your system is ten years old, but it's running the latest version of the operating system and wouldn't even need to be upgraded if it wasn't for depreciation. |

Folks, I am new here. I have had VAX/VMS and Open VMS experience expanding more than 16 years. When surveyed as to which operating system I most preferred, naturally i chosed Open VMS. But alas, there are already very few Open VMS sites. I learned that telecoms (especially Verizon) is using Open VMS for text message handling. Is this true? I would like to get feedbacks on what unique sites are still using Open VMS (including those who are not saying so for security purposes). It just makes me feel good that there are still adherents to this wonderful OS. Thanks |
